Now that our new school building is almost completed, our students and staff have expressed interest in building a vegetable garden and fruit orchard to cultivate, harvest and eat fresh vegetables and fruit . This would link in with our STEAM program as well as our annual Christmas Fair. Students in all grades will be involved in growing plants from seeds or seedlings. They would then be responsible for watering and maintaining their growth to use in our own cooking lessons and/or selling at our annual Christmas Fair in November. Lessons in mulching and composting will also be undertaken.

Members of the public will have access to our veggie patch and fruit orchard on weekends and out of school hours. They will be able to access gardening accessories as well as areas of the garden to assist in the watering and growth of this fresh produce. Compost bins and watering cans will be available for members of the public.
